The Berrien Press--Alapaha-Mrs. Emma Lee Luke, 84, of Alapaha, died Monday in 
the Berrien County Hospital after a short illness. She was born Aug. 28, 1908 
in Telfair County and was the daughter of the late George Horton and Emma Luke 
Horton. She lived most of her life in Berrien County. Mrs. Luke is preceded in 
death by her husband, Lawrence Luke, who died in 1967.
 She is survived by four daughters, Alene Harrell, Alapaha, Marjorie Giddens, 
Ocilla; Altie Harris, Alapaha; Addie Horn, Oglethorpe; one sister, Reid Ring, 
Lax; one brother, Willis Horten, Willacoochee; 18 grandchildren, 25 great 
grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Steve Croft and the Rev. Olem Bennett officiating. Interment 
will follow in Mt. Paron Cemetery near Alapaha. 
Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
