The Berrien Press -- Dewayne Luke, 57, of Alapaha died Nov. 7, 2006 at his 
residence.
 Born March 1, 1949 in Irwin County to Mary Alice Harper Smith of Alapaha and 
the late Charles Aubrey Luke, he was a member of Lax Missionary Baptist Church.
 Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one daughter and son-in-law, 
Tasha Luke Howe and Joseph Howe of Valdosta; his stepfather, Robert C. Smith 
of Alapaha; one sister and brother-in-law, D'Anna and R.B. Tucker, Jr. of 
Alapaha; nephews, Sam and Nathan Tucker, both of Alapaha. He was preceded in 
death by a brother, Donnie Howell Luke.
 Graveside service was held Nov. 9 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Irwin County 
with the Revs. Billy Roberts and James Bowen officiating.
 Paulk Funeral Home of Ocilla was in charge of arrangements.
