  Thelma G. Luke, 83, of Alapaha died March 24, 2009, at Berrien Nursing Center.
  She was born on May 15, 1925, in Berrien Co. to the late Henry Giddens and B
Belle Moore Giddens. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted Christian, h
her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She was an active member of P
Pleasant Hill Church.
  Survivors include one son, Terrell (Terry) Luke of Palatka, FL; daughter, 
Sylvia L. (Jimmy) Roberts of Alapaha; two grandchildren, John Paul (Jenny) Luke 
of Deltona, FL and Jeremy Luke Roberts of Alapaha; two great-grandchildren, Lin
Lindsey and Morgan Luke of Deltona; sister, Lois Bush of Starke, FL; and many spe
special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pau
Paul Luke who died on Feb. 3, 1995, and 10 brothers and sisters.
  Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on March 27 at Pleasant Hill Church with th
the Rev. Jackie Connell officiating. A eulogy was given by Sylvia Roberts. Su
Susan Flanders sang "Still Blessed' and "If you only Knew."
  Interment was in St. Luke Cemetery.
  Active pallbearers were Marlon Giddens, Wayman Giddens, Ed Giddens, Kevin G
Giddens, W. L. Giddens, Tommy Smith, Glen Giddens, Terry Danforth.
  Honorary pallbearers were Julian Giddens, Jeston Connell, Jason Connell, P. H
H. Danforth, Donald Giddens, Billy Connell, Raymond Grimes, Al Tomlinson.
  Flowers will be accepted or memorials to Hospice of Tiftarea or Southern Care H
Hospice.
  Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
