Mr. Luke was born April 4, 1934 to the late Pearlie and Rosa Lee Jowers Luke. He retired from Union Camp and attended Beulah Holiness Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, Winston Luke and three sisters, Alsteen "Sis" Swails, Ethel Dean and Lois Swails. Survivors include his wife, Sara Frances Conger Luke of Nashville; son, Alan Glenn Luke of Boise, ID; two daughters, Kathy Darlene Luke of Tifton and Nana Kareen Whitley of Tifton; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bobbie McGrady of Alapaha and Barbara Rose of Tifton. Funeral services were held Nov. 30 at Beulah Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Walker and Rev. Donnie Sloan officiating. The church choir sang "I Have Somebody With Me," "Beulah Land," "Far Side Banks of Jordan," and "Be Ready to Go." Interment was in St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery in Alapaha, Berrien Co., GA. Active pallbearers were Randy Swails, Roy Lee Luke, Mitchell Hogan, Terry Sirmans, Michael Moore, Gary Graham. Honorary pallbearers were the men of the church. Purvis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
