 Carolyn “Dolores” Brogdon Lyon “81” of Alapaha died September 9, 2013, at 
South Georgia Medical Center Berrien Campus in Nashville.
 She was born September 17, 1931 in Berrien County to the late Eston 
Cleo “Bill” and Norma McMillan Brogdon. She was also preceded in death by her 
husband, Elder Joseph Henry Lyon; an infant daughter, Carolyn Ruth Lyon; and a 
special aunt, Ina McMillan Davis. She was a farmer and rancher and a retired 
school teacher, with her entire teaching career being in Berrien County, where 
she was a lifelong resident.
 Survivors include several nieces and nephews in the Lyon family; Gloria Davis 
Lindsey and several cousins in the Brogdon family, including Winston Brogdon, 
who was like a son, and his wife, Lori; a special friend, Aggie Johnson, who 
was like family.
 Funeral services were held September 12 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson
Home for Funerals with Rev. Jackie Connell officiating.
Interment followed at McMillan Cemetery near Alapaha.
 Active pallbearers were Winston Brogdon, Wesley Williams, Chris 
Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Jackie Connell officiating.
Interment followed at McMillan Cemetery near Alapaha.
 Active pallbearers were Winston Brogdon, Wesley Williams, Chris Corkern, Tony 
Smith, William Brogdon, Eddie Tisby.
 Honorary pallbearers were Fred Lyon, Al Dunn, Myron Harper, Joe Dixon, Arnold 
Brogdon, Robert White, Steve Dixon, Lewellyn Roberts, J.W. Harper, Darrell 
Jernigan, Bob Lee, Jordan Flanders.
Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
