He was born June 5, 1935, in Crisp County to the late James Robert Lee and Betsy Pate Manning. He was retired from Georgia DOT in the road maintenance department and a member of Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church. He was the widower of Jeanette Griffin Manning who died in 2014. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Manning. He is survived by a son, Chuck Manning of Florida; two brothers, Glover Lamar (Cortez) Manning of Tifton and Authur Lee (Louise) Manning of Atlanta; two sisters, Erma (Jim) Barnett of Tifton and Kay Francis Spradlin of Tifton; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service was held at Long Bridge Cemetery on Friday, October 16, at 11 a.m. with Elder Robert Skinner officiating. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
