He was born in Detroit, MI on December 8, 1932 to George Ellis and Mary Louise Marshall, Charles, fondly nicknamed “Chuck,” proudly served in the United States Army as a corpsman during the Korean War. After returning from the war he married June Pegg on September 24, 1955. He worked for General Motors as test driver until relocating to Lincoln Park, NJ to take over the family business. In 1977 he moved his family to Nashville and became a top salesman for Chaparral Boats. He later moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 2000 to continue his salesmanship for the newly founded family business, Monterey Boats. He is survived by and is dearly missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, June Pegg Pegg Marshall; sister, Alice Holden; two sons, Charles Ellis Marshall, Jr. and Jeffery Todd Marshall; daughter, Mary Marshall Johnson; son-in-law, Curtis Drew Johnson; grandchildren, Ashley Marshall, Charles Marshall, Austin Kiick, Jessika Marshall, Victoria Marshall, Michelle Marshall, Matthew Marshall, Alexandra Kiick, Dagmar Micelson; and Nicholas Dufort. His lifelong dream was to “travel the world.” Chuck and June accomplished this dream by extensively traveling throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Antarctica, and Australia. He will always be remembered for his love of family, generosity to others, sense of humor and his “gift of gab.” The family will hold him closely in hearts forever. A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony’s Church at a date to be announced in the near future.
