 Herman Jack Martin, 84, of Nashville died June 15, 2009 at Tift Regional M
Medical Center.
 Born July 10, 1924, in Jackson County to the late Woodson and Annie Veneable M
Martin, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years service and was w
with Civil Service for 15 years. He was an aircraft instrument mechanic. He s
served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church where h
he received much love and strength.
 Survivors include his wife, Betty Nix Martin of Nashville, on son and daughter-in
in-law, the Rev. Garry W. and Rebecca Martin of St. Augustine, FL; three 
special grandchildren, Andrew (Dana) Martin, Rachel (Dan) Mall, Jarrod Martin; 
two precious great-grandchildren, Faith Mall and Ashton Martin; sister, Willie 
Mae Tuten, Jacksonville, FL; very special nephews, Rudolph (Barbara) Tuten, 
Evert, Mich., Dr. Thomas Abby of Jacksonville and his son, Joe (Amanda) Abby; 
sister-in-law, Cora Martin and her sons.
 Funeral services were held June 19 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Hom
Home with the Revs. Ray Calvin, Steven Pickern and Frank Shiver officiating. Nao
Naomi Hendriks sang "I Can Only Imagine" and "Amazing Grace," accompanied by Ali
Alice Pickern, "The Old Man" was played on CD.
 Interment with full military honors was held in Nashville Memorial Gardens.
 Pallbearers were Gary Schofield, Danny Hendley, Dennis Williams, Terry H
Hendricks, Billy Cartright, Mike Thompson.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
