Bessie "Nanny" Mashburn, 86, died December 31, 2012, at the Baptist Village R
Retirement Communities in Waycross following an extended illness.
 She was a native of Berrien County but had lived in Jacksonville, FL from 1960 
until 1995 before moving to Blackshear. She was employed at Maycohens 
Department Store as a merchandiser and was of the Christian faith. She was the 
daughter of Jesse Aaron Rowan, Sr. and Lola Hall Rowan. She was married to the 
late john H. Mashbburn and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn 
Chaney,-.
 Survivors include her son-in-law, Edward Chaney of Blackshear; four 
grandchildren, John Chaney (Pam) of Blackshear, Meloney "Jean" (Doug) Wilson of 
Jacksonville, FL, Joy McDaniel of Middleburg, FL and Jeff (Maryann) Chaney of 
Blackshear; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Douglas of Baldwin, FL, 
Ashley (Jesse) Waddell of Jacksonville, FL, Zachary McDaniel of Middleburg, FL, 
Austin Chaney of Blackshear, Evan Chaney of Blackshear; great-great-grandchild, 
Addison Douglas of Baldwin, FL; sister, Mamie Bracewell of Nashville; sister-in-law,
Annie 
law, Annie Eual Mashburn of Jacksonville, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
 Funeral  services were held January 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Music Funeral Home C
Chapel with a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Long Bridge Cemetery in Nashville.
 Music Funeral Home was in charge  of arrangements.
