Funeral Services held for Mrs. Elsie Mathis
Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Church at 2 p.m. last Sunday for Mrs. 
Elsie Mathis, Route 1, Nashville. She passed away at 3 p.m. Thursday in the 
Askew Memorial Hospital.
Born May 11, 1894, Mrs. Mathis had lived in Berrien County all her life. Her 
parents are Jasper Baldree, deceased, and Mrs. Sebaston Baldree of Route 2, 
Nashville.
She married Jerry Sutton, who preceded her in death in 1935.
She was a member of the Pine Grove Church.
Reverend L. B. Allen, Reverend Felton Gaskins, and Reverend Mack Goff 
officiated at the services.
Interment followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery. The Adel Quartet sang "Precious 
Memories" and "Gathering Home."
Active pallbearers were W. H. Outlaw, R.B. Hooper, Tallie Hancock, Sonny 
Hancock, Claude Walker, and Dempsey Harper.
Survivors include five sons, Roy Sutton, Talmadge Sutton, Jerry Sutton, and 
Aubrey Sutton, all of Miami, Florida, and Frank Sutton of Route 1, Alapaha; 
three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Bennett and Mrs. Mary Hallwell of Miami, Florida, 
and Mrs. Susie Eason of Quitman; her mother Mrs. Sebaston Baldree of Route 2, 
Nashville; five brothers, Charlie Baldree and Bell Baldree of Lenox, Tommy 
Baldree of Sparks, Lonnie Baldree of Nashville, and J.R. (Pet) Baldree of Adel; 
and five sisters, Mrs. Marion Pafford and Mrs. Aldred McClellan of Nashville, 
Mrs. C.A. Hancock of Lenox, and Mrs. Gus Jones of Winter Haven, Florida.
Lovein Funeral Homes of Nashville had charge of arrangements.
