NASHVILLE -- Maggie Mathis, 95, Nashville, died Wednesday, Dec, 24, 2003, at 
South Georgia Medical Center. 
 Born Sept. 23, 1908, in Berrien County, she was the daughter of Walter Golden 
and Mattie Gray.
 A homemaker, she was a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 
Mrs. Mathis was the widow of A. D. Mathis and Virgil Parr and was also 
preceded in death by a son, Virgil Parr, Jr.
 Survivors are two daughters, Geraldine Griner, Nashville, and Inell 
Cornelius, Nashville; two sons, J.W. Parr, Alapaha, Noah "Red" Parr, Valdosta; 
two brothers, Plemon Golden, Tifton, Walter Golden, West Berrien; 10 
grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-
grandchildren.
 The service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at the chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Interment is in Oakey 
Grove Cemetery.
 Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
