Born February 28, 1926 in Colquitt County to the late Redden Whitt and Mattie Belle Peacock Worrell, she was a homemaker and retired from Nashville Textile. She was a member of Beulah Holiness Baptist Church in Cook County. Survivors include her husband, William "Billy" Mathis of Ray City; two daughters, Carole Kemp of Ray City and Amanda Jones of Nashville; one son, Donnie Mathis of Galax, VA; one sister, Nellie Mae Hall of Moultrie; two brothers, Albert Worrell of Wakulla, FL and Lacy Worrell of Tifton; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 28 in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Shane Ashley and Clint Ashley officiating. Interment was in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Balwin, Shane Mathis, Tommy Allegood, Eddie Brightwell, Rocky Russell, Chris Mathis, Danny Sparks. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
