She was born on July 18, 1921, in Berrien County to the late Olan E. and Margaret Rentz Futch. She was a homemaker and member of Nashville First Baptist Church. She was the widow of William Henry "Bill" Mathis, who died in 1993. She is survived by three daughters, Pam (Don) Williams, Julie (Mitchell) Moore, all of Nashville, Gloria Anderson, San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren, Dr. Rachel (Jason) Hamil, Garrett (Lesha) Hester, Todd (Mandy) Anderson, Loren (Doug) Nix, Steven (Carrie) Anderson, Blake Moore, Blair Moore; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William H. Mathis Jr., who died in 1976, and a sister, Marjorie Watson, who died in 1988. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Harris officiating. Interment will be held in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held this evening from 7-9 p.m. ? Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville. Pallbearers were Jason Hamil, Doug Nix, Blake Moore, Garrett Hester, Steven Anderson, Todd Anderson.
