Born January 25, 1926, in Berrien County to the late James and Emma Lewis R Rogers, she was a homemaker and attended Nashville Mission. She was married to t the late Roy Eston Mathis, who died in 1993. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in law, Beverly and J.H. Moore of Alapaha and Shirley and Wayne Harrell of Nashville; son and daughter-in-law, Dane Dane and Jeannine Mathis of Nashville; sisters, Marie Holbrook and Helen Davis, both both of Nashville; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home Home with the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Karen Harrell sang a medley of hymn hymns, "Meet By the River" was played on CD and the congregation sang "Amazing Grac Grace." Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnny Holbrook, Elmo Spells, Wendell Spells, Billy Mathis, Ji Jimmy McMillan, Donald Mathis. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
