Henry Mathis Dies at Nashville Nashville, Ga., Nov. 24. – Nashville mourned the death Monday of an esteemed citizen in the person of Mr. W. Mathis whose death occurred last evening about six o’clock after an extended illness from typhoid fever lasting some three weeks. Mr. Mathis was formerly one of the successful barbers of Nashville, but he gave up this pursuit last spring to accept a position with the local Ford agency in Nashville in the sale of cars in which position he was very successful for the time he was engaged in the business. He was a quiet, unobtrusive gentleman, courteous to all and has many friends who sincerely regret his passing. He was about fifty years of age and leaves a wife and two little daughters to mourn the loss of husband and father. Funeral arrangements have not been perfected at this writing but it is presumed that interment will be at Flat Creek cemetery as his father and mother and other relatives including a former wife are buried there. Mr. Mathis is a brother of Messrs. John, Hiram and Rev. J.D. Mathis and his sisters are Mrs. T.H.T. Sutton and Mrs. Martha Devane of Nashville.
