Mathis Is Taken By Death Mrs. Annie Dorris Mathis, thirty-one years old, died Sunday morning at 6:30 o’clock at the Tifton hospital after several days’ illness. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at three o’clock at Vickers Church in Berrien County, conducted by Rev. Britt Hancock. Interment was in the Vickers cemetery. Annie Dorris Danforth, daughter of Barbara Ann and George Danforth, was born in Pulaski County, Georgia. Twenty-five years ago the family moved to Berrien County and she had made her home there since that time. At the time of her death she resided three miles south of Enigma on the road to Nashville. Seventeen years ago she married John Elzie Mathis, who survives her with the following children, George, Barbara, Retha, Vondell, and Elzie, Jr., all of Berrien County. Surviving also are her mother and several brothers and sisters. The many friends of the family join in extending sincere sympathy (last line illegible).
