Born August 22, 1934, in Coffee County to the late John Andrew and Willie Mae A Avera Mauldin, he was a resident of Charlotte, NC, prior to moving to C Cottonwood approximately 18 years ago. He was employed with Norfolk Southern R Railroad for 36 years. He served as Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge 244 in S Swainsboro. While in Swainsboro, he served as a lay leader of Calvary United M Methodist Church. He was a member of Cottonwood United Methodist Church where h he was on the Board of Trustees. Survivors include his wife, Teena Corbitt Mauldin of Cottonwood; son and daughter-in-law, John "Al" and Christi Mauldin of McDonough; daughter and son-in in-law, Monica and William "Bill" Sirmans of McDonough; grandchildren, Juston C. and Annie Sirmans of Jonesboro, Brandon W. Sirmans of Portsmouth, VA, Andrew and Allison Eaton, Taylor Anne Mauldin all of McDonough; great-grandchildren, William and Katelynn Sirmans of Jonesboro; two sisters and once brother-in-law, Johni Johnie Dean Key and Anne and Wayne Watson, all of Carrollton; several nieces and n and nephews. Funeral services were held Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. at Cottonwood United Methodist Chur Church with Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Mount of Olives Memorial Gardens in Cottonwood. Active pallbearers were Lige "Boots" Corbitt, Judd Hooks, John Lovein, Elison Ke Key, Lamar Snell, Bruce Wozow. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Long and Joe Graddy. Southern Heritage Funeral Home of Dothan, AL, was in charge of arrangements.
