Born January 21, 1937 in Berrien County to the late Lawton E. and Virginia Cowart Gaskins, she was a homemaker and retired peanut program controller with ASCS. She was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church and was married to the late William Edward "Bill" Maupin. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Lisa Maupin of Boone, NC, and Lee and Marsha Maupin of Lake Park; one sister and brother-in- law, Helen and Ken Garren of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Lacey Maupin, Ali Maupin, William Maupin. Funeral services were held December 19 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Junior Swain and Jimmy Futch officiating. The congregation sang "Amazing Grace," accompanied by Carolyn Hendley, pianist. "I Can Only Imagine" was played on CD. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Vickers, Carlos Vickers, Wayne Hendley, David Hendley, Randy Griffin, Wes Walker. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
