NASHVILLE -- Avanell May, 94, of Nashville, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the 
Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center. She was born July 30, 1909, in Berrien 
County to Lucious Gaskins and Lessie Parrish Gaskins. 
 She was a homemaker and married to the late Glenn May. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, her husband, a son, Clyde "Tinker" May (who died in 
1998) and seven brothers and sisters.
 She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Kenneth and Ruth May of 
Lakeland and Carol and Verma Lee May of Nashville; seven grandchildren and 11 
great-grandchildren.
 The funeral will be Monday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. at Ruth Forester Missionary 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Junior Swain and Rev. Jim Williams officiating. 
Burial is in Gaskins Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today with the 
family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Lovein Funeral Home.
