Born March 16, 1923 in Berrien County to the late Henry Daniel and Callie Rowe McClellan, he grew up in Tampa, FL, where he met his wife of 51 years, Lois Phillips, who died April 9, 2002. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired industrial hardware salesman for 42 years with Knight and Wall Hardware Company in Tampa where he earned Salesman of the Year. He served during WWII and participated in the landings of Normandy, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Survivors include a daughter, Debra, and son in law, Lewis Campbell, of the West Berrien community; granddaughter, Sarah, and her husband, Adam Bennett, four great-grandchildren, London, Alexis, Emily and Shane. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Haywood McClellan. Funeral services were held June 29 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Harris officiating. Songs played on CD were "He Touched Me" and "How Great Thou Art." Interment was in Tift Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were Kent Carter, Vinson Griffin, Gary Terrell, Ronald Rowe, Billy Bryan, Adam Bennett. Honorary pallbearers were Grady Bryan, Leaouns Griffin, Densol Griffin, Herman McClellan.
