She was born August 28, 1938 in Lanier County to the late Pleason and Gussie Boyd Kirkland. She was a homemaker and para-professional with the Berrien C County Board of Education. She was a member of Faith Chapel. She was preceded i in death by a sister and a brother. Survivors include her husband, Bobby McCorvey of Nashville; daughters, Janet (Keith) Powell of Nashville, Patti (Mark) Karras of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Ryan (Raquel) Powell, Maggie Karras, Carter Karras, and Kristin Powell; great-granddaughter, Anaiah Powell; two sisters< Nell Ridgings and Mary Keen b Keen both of Nashville; two brothers, Larry Kirkland of Pearson and Robert Kirkla Kirkland of Florida. A private memorial service was held on Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. at Faith Chapel for famil family and church members. The congregation sang "Amazing Grace," accompanied by he by her daughter, Janet Powell, pianist. Funeral services were held November at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home Home with the Rev. Mike Bennett and the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Musi Musical selections included "I Can Only Imagine" and "Go Rest High On That Moun Mountain," "I'll Meet You By The River" by the Pafford Family and "Beautiful Star Star of Bethlehem," sung by the congregation and accompanied by Janet Powell, pian pianist. Interment followed in Nashville Memorial Gardens with Doug Nix sharing mem memories of Mrs. McCorvey. Active pallbearers were Wayne Kimble, Ronny Kimble, Mark Nix, Doug Nix, Dan Ni Nix, Ronnie Lawson, Randy McCorvey, Chris Sumner. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Purvis, David Powell, Jimmy Parker, Bernie F Fiskeaux, Donald Stone. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
