   ALAPAHA -- Gwen McCranie, 48, of Alapaha, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 199
1997, at her residence. She was born December 7, 1948 in Irwin Co. to Alton Row
Rowan and Nell Moore. She was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture as 
as a loan technician and was a member of Glory United Methodist Church.
  Survivors include her husband, Mike McCranie of Alapaha; two sons, Kyle Mc
McCranie and Blake McCranie both of Alapaha; her parents, Alton and Nell Rowan of
of Alapaha; three sisters, Kathie Wright and Rhonda Keeling both of Valdosta an
and Fonda Rowan of Athens.
  She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Rowan, who died in 1960.
  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Glory United Methodist 
Church. The Rev. James Hancock and the Rev. Bill Smith will officiate. 
Interment will follow in Glory Cemetery. Visitation is today after 4 p.m. with 
the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. 
 Lovein Funeral Home of Nashville was in charge of arrangements.
