ALAPAHA -- Lawton McMillan, 81, of Alapaha died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at 
Tift Regional Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 11, 1923 in Atkinson Co., 
Willacoochee, GA to Quincy and Stella Tucker McMillan. He was a retired 
farmer, Navy veteran of WWII and a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist 
Church.
 He is survived by his wife, Leola Luke McMillan of Alapaha; two daughters, 
Shirley Durden of Nashville, Sandra Parrish, Alapaha; five sons, Danny 
McMillan of Alapaha; Quincy McMillan of Adel, GA; Perry McMillan of Ocala, FL; 
Bill McMillan of Lenox, GA; James McMillan of Stevens City, VA; 16 
grandchildren; one stepgrandson; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence 
Futch, Willacoochee; Florence Bobo of McDonough, GA; two brothers, J. Q. 
McMillan of Willacoochee; Earl McMillan of Lilburn, GA.
 Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. McMillan. Honorary pallbearers were his 
grandchildren.
 Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at St. Luke 
Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Fussell, Jackie Connell, and 
Kevin Stone officiating. Burial will be held in St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation 
will be held today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m.
 Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, GA.
