NASHVILLE -- James Wilbert McMillan Jr., 78, of Nashville, died Friday, Oct. 
11, 2002, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 19, 1924, in Irwin County to 
James Wilbert and Martha Hunter McMillan. He was a retired supervisor with a 
phosphate mining company, Navy veteran of WWII and was of the Baptist faith. 
He is survived by his wife, Velma Webb McMillan of Nashville; son and daughter-
in-law, Roy Wilbert and Ana McMillan of Cumming; two grandchildren, Corey and 
Amanda McMillan; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Talmadge Purvis of 
Alapaha, Martha Ann and Talmadge Solomon of Jacksonville, Fla.; and sister-in-
law, Othelle McMillan of Alapaha. Graveside funeral service will be held at 4 
p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13 in Nashville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Carroll 
McMillan officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of 
service Sunday. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hospice of 
South Georgia. -- Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, a member by Invitation of 
Selected Independent Funeral Homes
