NASHVILLE -- Atwill Metts, 85, of Nashville died January 21, 2002 at South 
Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.
 Born November 4, 1916 in Berrien Co. to the late George and Rebecca Webb 
Griffin, she was a homemaker and member of Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church. 
She was married to the late Grover Wilson Metts.
 Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Jowers of St. Simons Island and 
Cathy Gaskins of Nashville, three sisters, Florie Hesters of Nashville, Doris 
Jernigan of Albany, Mellie Ussery of Louisiana; three brothers, George Griffin 
of Nashville, Ebb Griffin of Albany, Mitchell Griffin of Sylvester; five 
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held January 26 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Paron Primitive 
Baptist Church with Elder Charles Tyson officiating. A selected Primitive 
Baptist Church choir sang "Rock of Ages" and "Amazing Grace."
 Interment was in Mt. Paron Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
