Born October 7, 1924 in Bibb County to the late Joseph A. and Lucy Jones Simpson, she was a homemaker and was associated with Sears for 25 years as a custom drapery designer. She was a member of Forest Park First Baptist Church and was married to the late Harry "Poppa" Miller. Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Catherine and Mike Ables of Snellville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Sue Miller of Carrollton, Lamar and Tammy Miller of Nashville; two brothers, W.A. Simpson of Warwick, Jay Simpson of Doerun, one sister, Mylene Stevenson of Warwick; seven grandchildren, Todd (Charlene) Alexander of Locust Grove, James (Meredith) McDaniel of Long Creek, SC, Chris (Merry) Ables of Fort Belvoir, VA, Brooke Reeves, Jody Miller, Danny (Christy) Reeves all of Carrollton, Kale Miller of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Martin Simpson. Funeral services were held March 20 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Gilbert Hinson officiating. Annette Eubanks sang "How Great Thou Art: and "Lily of the Valley." Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Chris Ables, grandson, 3rd U.S. Army Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard, led the pallbearers with the casket carried by Jason Talton, Warren Talton, Justin Talton, Lyn Stone, Brad Simpson Bruce Stevenson.
