Born July 14, 1915, in Wilcox County to the late Charles Pinkney and Nancy Aldridge Mills, he was a retired farmer and attended Alapaha Church of God. He was married to Hazel Louise Bellflower Mills who died Feb. 20, 2009. Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Woodruff of Nashville and Sue Mikell of Ray City; one son, L. T. Mills of Fitzgerald; 11 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Callis Pauline Dixon of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters, William Mills, George Mills, Maude Eaton, Birdie Tucker, Betsy White, Nancy Mills, Lucy Hewitt, Pearl DeLoach. Funeral services were held Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Kenneth Kicklighter and Mickey Lindsey officiating. Phyllis Boyd, Karrie Varnadoe, Paul Mills and Paula Luke sang "Amazing Grace," and New Tradition sang "Far Side Banks of Jordan" and "If We Never Meet Again." Interment was in Fellowship Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Cory Luke, Gregg Luke, Levi Boyd, Robert Whitley, Richard Whitley, Jamie Mills, Matthew Varnadoe. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Mills, Tom Woodruff, Tim Woodruff, Shawn Mikell, Deric Mikell. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
