  Garland Lee Mitchell, 84, of Nashville died Monday, December 7, 2015, at Tift 
Regional Medical Center.
 He was born November 29, 1931, in Brooks County to the late Vonnie Lee and Beulah 
Elizabeth Newsome Mitchell. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech 
Sergeant firefighter with 20 years of service, served during the Korean Conflict 
and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Mitchell; 
sister, Ada Beauchamp; and a brother, Riley David Mitchell.
 He is survived by his wife, Norma Hunnicutt Mitchell of Nashville; two daughters, 
Linda Sue (Gary) Rowan of Madison, FL and Becky (Scott) Willis of West Berrien; 
son David (Ashley) Mitchell of Wettington Springs, SD; brother, Brooks Mitchell of 
Nashville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and 
nephews.
 Funeral services were held on Friday, December 11 at 2 p. m. in the Chapel of 
Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. J. W.  Dukes, III and the Rev. Junior Swain 
officiating.
 Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
