Having served in the military for 28 years, beginning in WWII, 1943-1945, he was involved in three major battles, serving with 85th Infantry division; Rome-Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in Italy and from MacDill A.F.B. with First Oak Leaf Cluster; Meritorious Service Medal, Elmendorf A.F.B., Alaska. Having retired from the Air Force in 1972 as a CMS, he then worked for Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in Italy and from MacDill A.F.B. with First Oak Leaf Cluster; Meritorious Service Medal, Elmendorf A.F.B., Alaska. Having retired from the Air Force in 1972 as a CMS, he then worked for Kash and Karry for 16 years. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Tampa, FL, serving in many capacities over the years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Frances Drawdy Mobley; daughter, Karen Denise Mobley Hilliard; two sisters, Lawanna Balmer and Carolyn Griffin; brother, William Howard Mobley. He was predeceased by a son, Paul Dwight Mobley, Jr., his parents, Clifford and Carrie Mobley of Homerville, sisters, Mildred Mobley, Betty McBride, and Louise Kent. Funeral services were held on May 16 at 11 a.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors followed at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Blount & Curry Funeral Home of Tampa was in charge of the arrangements.
