Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Fletcher Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Bill Roberts will officiate. Ms. Moore was born on Aug. 20, 1927 in Berrien Co. She was the daughter of Arthur N. Moore and Elsie Williams Moore, both deceased. She was a retired major in the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service. She was the first female officer to be assigned to the war zone in Vietnam. She was a member of Alapaha United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Freida Schaffner of Alapaha, three grandchildren, two nephews, two nieces and an aunt. Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
