Nash, 94, of Ray City, who died April 28, 1986, at Memorial Hospital of Adel, were held May 1 at 3 p.m. at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Cook County. The Reverends Stanley Luke and John Hendley officiated with Harry McDonald, Richard McDonald, Dennis Thomas, Jerry Clark, Robert Mathis and James Clark serving as pallbearers. Timmy Luke sang “Amazing Grace” and “Precious Memories.” Born April 11, 1892 Mrs. Nash was the daughter of Gabe Grimes and Anna Lindsey. She was married to Edd C. Nash who died in 1949. She is survived by five sons, James Simon Nash of Lake Park, Allen Julian Nash of Miami, Harold Deen Nash of Douglas, W.D. Nash and C.B. Nash of Nashville; seven daughters, Gertrude Barton of Hollywood, Fl., Ollie Clarke of Ray City, Jewell McDonald, Rachel Terry and Leona Brooks of Adel, Lou Nelle Lightsey and Irea Johnson of Valdosta; 63 grandchildren, several great and great-great-granchildren. Interment was at Brushy Creek cemetery. Boone Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
