Born October 5, 1928 in Brooks County to the late Henry and Ellie Mae Exum Neely, he was a retired truck driver with the J. H. Harvey Co. He was married to the late Billie Neely who died in 1978. Survivors include two sisters, Ruby Powell of Nashville and Bessie Ricks of Quitman; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Neely. Funeral services were held December 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Hughes officiating. Jamie Westberry sang "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden." Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. Pallbearers were Jerry Hall, Vernon Hughes, Frank Watts, Bobby Bevill. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
