Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Vallet. Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7- 9 p.m. Born July 31, 1923 in Jeff Davis County, he was the son of George Moses Nelms and Mattie Persons both deceased. Mr. Nelms was a retired civil services aircraft mechanic at Moody Air Force Base and a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Worldwide Church of God in Moultrie. Survivors include his wife, Lettie Marlene Taylor Nelms of Maylene, AL; three daughters, Debbie Vallet of Logan, WV, Edwina Azbell of Birmingham, AL and Elaine Nelms of Spokane, WA; one son, John B.
