  Betty Newsom, 76, of Alapaha died October 25, 2010, at Berrien County Ho
Hospital.
  Born July 10, 1934 in Cook County to the late Lonnie and Mary Lillian Glover B
Bryant, she was a homemaker and member of Alapaha Baptist Church.
  Survivors include her husband, Henry Newsom of Alapaha; daughters, Gail 
Newsom of Alapaha and Paula Ivey of Tifton; sister, Carolyn Matsick of 
Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, James Anthony Burdette, Angela Burdette, 
Jamie Ivey, Megan Ivey, seven great-grandchildren, Kyla Ivey, Breelyn Ivey, K
Kellan Ivey, Joseph Wilson, Brianna Wilson, Maddox Henderson, Paxton Henderson. S
She was preceded in death by a sister, Qnita Bryant.
  Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. at Alapaha Baptist Church 
with the Revs. Mike Gibbs and Shelvie Summerlin officiating. Mark Davis 
sang “Come To Jesus” and “How Great Thou Art,” accompanied by Darlene Turner,
pianis
pianist.
  Interment was in Fletcher Cemetery.
  Pallbearers were Marlon Harris, Darrell Jernigan, David Gaskins, Hayne Nort
Norton, John Dixon, Jimmy Gaskins.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
