He was born March 4, 1926, in Berrien County to the late Elbert and Maxine Harper Nix. He was a retired used car dealer with Nix & Son Auto Sales and a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lewis Nix, brother-in-law, Don H Haskins, and sister, Ouida Carter. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Andrew) Smith of Lake Park; sons, Randy (Yvonne) Nix of Magnolia Springs, AL, and Ricky (Marcy) Nix of Pavo; three sisters, Mary Beth (Paul) Harris, Juanell Haskins and Sue (Donald) Powell, all of Nashville; brothers, Bobby (Bonnie)Nix and Russell (Ann) all of Nashville; five grandchildren, Judd, Heidi, Brandi, Mandy and Kealon; five great-grandchildren, Abbeyglen, Waverley, Camille, Brady and Harris. Funeral services were held March 16 at 11 a.m. at Nashville First Baptist Chu Church with the Revs. Stanley Luke and Willie Heath officiating. Musical sel selections included "I'll Fly Away" and "What a day That Will Be," sung by Jac Jackson Moore, Greg Ray, Billy Hill and Wayne Stallings, accompanied by pia pianist, Vicki Vinson. Active pallbearers were his nephews. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
