He was born September 1, 1932, in Berrien County to the late Lucious Ernest and Alma Harper Nix. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force, served in Vietnam, and attended Hope Baptist Church. He was the widower of Johnnie Faye Dorminey Nix who died in 2012. He is survived by a daughter, Judith Ann (Bill) Cooper of Adel; son, David (Kim) Nix of Nashville, brother, Billy (Libby) Nix of Nashville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 15 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Nix and the Rev. Ray Calvin officiating. Interment was in Long Bridge Cemetery with full military honors. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
