Born March 21, 1919 in Macon Co., NC to the late Lewis Ransom and Lula Perkins Evitt Norton, he owned and operated Norton Jewelers in Nashville for many years. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church and was married to the late Betty Bell Norton. Survivors include one granddaughter, Dawn Norton Williams of Fernandina Beach, FL; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 12 at 11 a.m. at Nashville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Richard Trawick and Billy Swain officiating. Deborah Boyd sang "Life's Railway to Heaven" and "It is Well With My Soul," accompanied by Juanell Nichols. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wic Erickson, Harry Louis Sutton, Walt Durden, Ken Spears, P. A. Harris, Jr., Todd Tait. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
