Norwood Passes at 87; Rites Sunday J.I. Norwood, 87, native of Lowndes County, and formerly of Nashville, died shortly after noon last Friday at the home of a son, F.W. Norwood in Valdosta. He had been in ill health for some time. Surviving Mr. Norwood are the son at whose home he died and three other sons, J.W. Norwood and C.W. Norwood of Valdosta and J.E. Norwood, Macon. A sister, Mrs. Ed May, Adel, and a brother, J.W. Norwood, Haskell, Okla., also survive. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Primitive Baptist Church in Adel. Mr. Norwood was born in Lowndes County near Naylor. He spent a great part of his life, however, in Berrien County. He served Berrien County for 24 years as ordinary. Prior to that he was county treasurer. He had made his home in Valdosta for the past several years.
