  Kenneth Peter Nugent, 74, of Alapaha, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at his 
residence.He was born on April 24, 1934, in Atkinson County to the late Owen 
James Nugent Jr. and the late Wilma Daniel Nugent. He was a retired grocery 
store owner. He was a member of Saint Ann Catholic Church / Eucharist Minister. 
He was an Army veteran.He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Flanders Nugent of 
Alapaha; five daughters, Teresa (Paul) Penewitt of Panama City, Fla., Bonnie 
Purvis of Ocilla, Debra (Rick) Brantley of Gray, Louise Williams of Nashville 
and Christie (Derring) Johnson of Alapaha; three sons, Owen Nugent III of 
Alapaha, Roger (Penny) Nugent of Alapaha and Ricky Nugent of Alapaha; two 
sisters, Louise Reese of Marietta and Judy Griffin of Albany; two brothers, 
Herman Nugent of Alapaha and David Nugent of Alapaha. He was preceded in death 
by a son-in-law, Derwin Purvis, and two brothers, Charles Nugent and Jimmy 
Nugent. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Saint Ann 
Catholic Church, with Father Alfonzo Guiterrez, Monsignor Lawrence Lucree and 
Deacon J. Bryan Bergeron. Interment will be in Fletcher Cemetery. A rosary will 
be said at 6 p.m. Monday in the Saint Ann Catholic Church with visitation to 
follow until 9 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to the 
Health Care Advocates of Berrien County. 
 Pallbearers were Steven Penewitt, Alan Penewitt, Travis Purvis, Stevie Davis, 
Tyler Brantley, Kurt Williams, Jeffrey Nugent, Matt Nugent, Mark Nugent.
 Honorary pallbearers were Julie Penewitt, Liz Purvis Cary, Stephanie Nugent, 
Taylor Nugent, Rachel Brantley, Perrin Williams, Erika Johnson, Trinidi Davis, 
Tristen Davis.
- Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
