Born June 3, 1944, in Nashville to the late Will and Sally Taylor O'Berry, he was employed by BP Amoco as a mechanic until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Nashville. He dearly loved his family, his pet dog, Buckwheat, working at BP Amoco, flower gardening, and the Ocean at Amelia Island, FL. He was a devoted husband and father and will be dearly missed. Riley is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 40 years, Carol O'Berry of Nashville; one son and daughter-in-law, Riley and Margaret O'Berry of Nashville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Shaun Hall, Sandi and Ronnie Skinner, Wanda Gyr, all of Nashville; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Janice O'Berry, Nashville, Willie O'Berry, Nashville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Wallace Rogers, Nashville, Alline and Henry Boyd of Nashville, Betty and Lonzo Gray of Adel; many nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joe O'Berry; and sisters, Annie May Oliver and Amapearl Maynard. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Pickern officiating. Burial will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Pallbearers will be co-workers from BP Amoco. Honorary pallbearers will be Berrien County Sheriff Department. Those wishing may consider contributions in his memory to Hospice of Tift Area. Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
