Sanders Levi J. Sanders, 87, of Tallahassee, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1993 at Tallahassee Community Hospital. A native of Nashville, GA, he had lived in Tallahassee for three years and had lived in Quincy for 43 yers before moving to Tallahassee. He was a member of the Pligah Primitive Baptist Church in Climax, GA, and a retired barber. Services were held Sunday, Feb. 21, 1993, 3 p.m. at Faith Heritage Church in Quincy, FL. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy, and Sasser-Morgan- McClellan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He is survived by four daughters, Doris Harnage, of Adel, GA; Elizabeth Phillips of Tallahassee; Ann Kirkland and Betty Roberts, both of Quincy; one son, Samuel J. Sanders, of Royal Palm Beach, FL; one brother, Floyd Sanders, Valdosta, GA; one sister, Marjorie Arnold, Lakeland, FL; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and, two great great grandchildren. Additional Comments: Levi Jordan Sanders is the son of the late Samuel Greenberry Sanders Jr. and Olive Elizabeth Gaskins of Berrien Co., GA. Although the obit in the Gadsden County Times listed Levi J. Sanders as having four daughters, he only had two daughters, Doris Harnage and Elizabeth Phillips. Four "daughters" were listed in the obit at the family's request since Levi J. Sanders had also helped rear his second wife's two nieces, Ann Kirkland and Betty Roberts; Ann and Betty's maiden name was Norton.
