She died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 in the Berrien County Hospital. Born on Aug. 7, 1944 in Berrien County to John D. Akridge and Maudell Hancock. She was a homemaker and beautician and a member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Emory Pafford of Lake Park; two sons, Kevin Burnes and Brett Burnes both of Nashville, three step sons, Cavin Pafford of Nashville, Buddy Pafford of Jacksonville, FL, William Pafford of Gonzalez, LA; one step daughter, Kim Pafford of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Faye Mincey of Valdosta, Barbara Kitchens of Adel; three brothers, Carroll Akridge of Enigma, Roy Akridge of Alapaha, Bobby Akridge of Nashville and 14 grandchildren. Services will be held Monday Feb.. 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Mickey Lindsey and Gary James officiating. The Pafford Family sang "Without Jesus You Won't Make It Home," accompanied by Linda Hall, pianist. Burial will be at Vickers Cemetery with visitation today after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Pallbearers were Jody Gaskins, Chuck Akridge, Bob Akridge, Tracy Rice, Bubba Rice, Lyn Murray.
