He was born February 22, 1931 in Berrien County to the late Virgil Hollis and Maggie Golden Parr. He was a retired automotive salesman with the former Roger Budd Chevrolet and had also been associated with Del-Cook Lumber and Langdale Forest Products. He was an Army veteran of Korea. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Parr, and their infant daughter, Emily Yvonne Parr. He is survived by his son, Ray (Nancy) Parr of Hahira; daughter, Peggy Parr of Quitman; sister, Inell Cornelius of Nashville; four grandchildren, Allegra (Dane) Peters, Elizabeth Parr, Scott (Jennifer) Lowery, Josh (April) Lehman; six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held August 3 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Faulk officiating. Interment was in Oakey Grove Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
