Parrish, 24, was killed almost instantly on Tuesday afternoon about 2:45 o’clock when his automobile was wrecked on the Alapaha-Tifton Highway near Enigma. Mr. Parrish was riding alone in the automobile, a 1935 Tudor Ford, when the machine overturned several times, running down an embankment before stopping. Mr. Parrish was thrown from the car and pinned underneath. He died a few minutes after he was removed. His neck was broken and he suffered severe internal injuries. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. L.A. Hancock conducted the services held at the graveside. Pall- bearers were Joe Brown Myers, Ralph McDaniel, Caulie Singletary, Johnnie Wade, Charles Connell, and Willie Hendley. Mr. Parrish was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon L. Parrish, both deceased, of Berrien County. He was born in this county on September 29, 1914, and raised by Mrs. Lucious Gaskins since the death of his parents when he was about ten years old. He attended the Nashville schools. In 1937 he was married to Miss Zeldee Hendley, by whom he is survived. Surviving him besides his widow are a sister, Mrs. Ruth Alexander, and his grandfather, Mr. John Q. Allen, both of Nashville. The Giddens Funeral Home of Nashville was in charge of arrangements.
