Born August 4, 1915 in Toombs County to the late Charles Leonard and Ola Brogdon Partin, he was a custodial assistant with the Municipal Court Building in New York City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII as an ammunition barrier and fought in eight major battles and was awarded the purple heart with two clusters. He was a member of First Baptist CHurch in Lakeland. Survivors include his wife, Ann Helen Schmiedel Partin of Sunrise, FL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and Leon Harrell of Ray City and Saralene and Richard Brewer of Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eunive McNeal and Loudine Walker; three brothers, Ray Partin, Robert James Partin and Sam Partin. Funeral services were held December 10 at 2 p.m. at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Mitchell officiating. Deborah Boyd sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Because He Lives," accompanied by Linda Hayes. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Hayes, Mike McNeal, Jimmie Jones, Billy Crawley, Cliff Walker, Eric Worley. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
