The Berrien Press--Irene Stevens Pearson, 79, of Nashville died Jan. 19, 2009 
at Berrien County Hospital.

 Born March 30, 1929 in Atkinson Co. to the late Charlie and Georgia Ann 
Leavens Spivey; she was a homemaker and attended Trinity Holiness Church. She 
was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar "Tiny B." Stevens, who died 
in 1980; and a son, Charles Stevens.

 Survivors include her husband, Madison Pearson, Jr., of Nashville; three 
daughters, Deborah Delk, Nashville, Mary Helen Edwards, Lakeland, Marcia Lynn 
Johnson, Sylvester; two sons, Larry Stevens, Enigma, Jimmy Dale Stevens, 
Fletcher, NC; two sisters, Rose Marie Barnes, Douglas, Geneva Youngblood, 
Pearson; four brothers, C. R. Spivey and Bobby Spivey both of Jacksonville, FL; 
Oral Daniel Spivey , Waycross, Johnny Edward Spivey, Douglas; 11 grandchildren; 
23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death 
by 3 grandchildren, Brad Stevens, Robbie Johnston, Kimberly Ann Stevens.

 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at Jan 22 in the chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with the Revs. Lawton Watson and Harold Barnes officiating. "Gone Home" 
was played on CD and the Barnes girls sang "Full View of Heaven" and "Beyond 
One Sunset."

 Interment was in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

 Pallbearers were Tony Stevens, Steve Wright, Anthony Johnson, Ethan Carver, 
Kevin Spivey, Kyle Spivey.

 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.
