 Charles Edward Peters, 84, of Nashville died November 20, 2013 at Tift 
Regional Medical Center.
 He was born October 17, 1929 in Irwin County to the late James Andrew and 
Rosalee Hogan Peters. He was a retired Chief of Police in Sparks. He was also a 
police officer in Tifton and a deputy with Tift County having serving 31 years 
in law enforcement. He was a member of the Honorary Chief of Police 
Association. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in 
death by a brother, James Williams Peters.
 He is survived by his wife, Betty Luke Peters of Nashville; three daughters, 
Norma Peters Childree of Reynolds, Grace Peters Taylor of Perry, and Stephanie 
Peters Warren of Adel; six grandchildren, Chris Warner, Shane Bennett, Jessica 
Warner, Kaine Bennett, Tate Bennett, and Wendy Thompson; several great-grandchildren
and great
grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held November 23 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Revs. Mickey Lindsey and Ted Graham officiating.
 Interment followed in Flat Creek Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
