Born Oct. 29, 1935, in Folkston to the late Winston and Eula Mae Flanders Pierce, he owned and operator Aaron's service Center in Alapaha and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former member of Alapaha Lion's Club and had served as Mayor Mayor Pro Tem of Alapaha, project supervisor for Town of Alapaha, and Berrien County County Road Superintendent. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Wright Pierce of Alapaha; son, Dr. Craig Pierce Pierce of Savannah; two brothers, the Rev. Teddy Pierce of Alapaha and Mickey Pierce Pierce of McDonough. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Nannet Nannette Pierce, in 1961. Funeral services were held March 25 in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the R the Revs. Teddy Pierce and D. Q. Pittman officiating. Eulogies were given by Hayne Hayne Norten and Joe Dixon. Joel Dixon, soloist and guitarist, sang "Blessed Assur Assurance." Interment was in Fletcher Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Hayne Norton, William Brogdon, John Dixon, Mickey Pie Pierce, Ricky Nugent, Herman Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Dixon, Lincoln Gaskins, Dave Harper, Alton Ro Rowan, Johnny Purvis, Julian Fields, Raymond Purvis. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
