He was born Aug. 13, 1945, in Lowndes County to the late Willis David and M Merle Alice Walker Pittman. He was a retired independent Sunbeam bread d distributor for Flowers Baking Co., a U.S. Army veteran, member of American L Legion and Flat Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife. Brenda Joyce Baker Pittman of Nashville; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Van Watson of Camden, S,C,; son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Ann Pittman of Hinesville; brothers, Randall Pittman of Nashville and James Pittman of Perry, FL; four grandchildren, Vance Watson, Paul Watson, McKalee Tupper, Beau Pittman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Laverne Pittman and a sister, Karen Rowe. Funeral services were held April 7 at 2 p.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Mickey Lindsey and Mark Swain officiating. Tammy Kent served as pianist. "An Old Sinner Like Me" was played on CD. Interment was in Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robbie Dasher, Darron Lanier, Jimmy Taylor, Mike Bennett, Charles Bryan, Donnie Carter.
