She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Webb and Ollie Hendley, sister, Eula Mae Foster and brothers, Howell Hendley, Hubert Hendley, Wallace Hendley, Johnny Hendley, and Jimmy Hendley. Ruthie lived her entire life with praise and worship of our Lord and Savior. She strived to touch the hearts and minds of everyone she met to become true believers and to live through faith in God and His Son Jesus Christ. Next in her life were her precious children, grandchildren and family. Some of her most treasured moments were those spent loving and living for and through her children and grandchildren. She always strived to be a good example for them and to lead them in a Christian life. She would always have a large smile on her face when she talked of her children and their families. Being a mother and grandmother came second only to serving Christ. As her children grew up, they learned early in life that not only was she caring and loving, but she loved her children so much. She tried to instruct them in the right way to live. She would pray with her children at night time before sleep. Each morning she would have breakfast made. She encouraged each child as he/she grew up to do his/her best. She always said to each, "You can be what you want to be," and encouraged them to do whatever they did 100%. She was always full of life and loved all living things but had a special passion for flowers. She was always fixing arrangements for her church and she never came to see you without a bloom or twig of some kind in hand. Funeral services, with her daughter's, were held at Calvary Temple Baptist Church, Be miss Rd., Valdosta, on Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
